It wasn’t just about not feeling good enough\u2014I felt defective. I felt I was wrong for who I was at my core.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I was an illegitimate Native American with a white father, punished by white settlers for my spiritual practices. They made me feel crazy for who I was and what I believed.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
I felt powerless, feared the settlers’ judgment, and didn’t feel free to make my own choices. I people-pleased to survive.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
At the same time, I envied those who were fully white, thinking life would be better if I were.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Ironically, in this life, my soul chose to be white with the purpose of teaching metaphysics. Before I discovered my Native American past life, I wished I had been born Indigenous so people would see me as more spiritual.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
It’s funny how the soul picks different “the-grass-is-greener-on-the-other-side” scenarios to teach us to love and appreciate our current body, personality, culture, and life.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
